For many years suppliers of schoolwear realised the need for an annual exhibition where they could meet customers and show their full range of products.
The only option available was to show at a major international fashion exhibition. The products looked out of place and the show was so big that customers and exhibitors never met.
6 years ago matters changed and eight schoolwear suppliers got together to form Force 8 Schoolwear producing two exhibitions in Newcastle Under Lyme and Newbury. Interest soon grew and eight became 12 forming Force Twelve Schoolwear as it is known today. That year's exhibition at Tewkesbury proved so successful that we realised a much bigger venue was required for an exhibition that was to double in size.
Association of Independent Stores (A.I.S) were approached. With a purpose built exhibition hall, unrivalled facilities and the perfect location in the centre of the country in Solihull, Birmingham, the venue seemed ideal and so it proved with record numbers of visitors attending. Last year saw the show expand further at the same location establishing the Force Twelve Schoolwear Exhibition, in conjunction with the A.I.S and support of Childrens Wear Buyer (CWB) Magazine, as the only exhibition of schoolwear suppliers for the independent retailer. The focal point of the whole industry.
This year sees still further expansion with 51 suppliers booked to exhibit. Throughout, Force 8 and Force Twelve has been run voluntarily for the benefit of the trade
The directors are giving up their own time to organise the event.
